this spring was amazing. usually it seems to last around a couple of weeks and then we’re onto a scorching hot summer but this year spring stuck around. lingered in fact. even as i write this the day has been cool and cloudy with drizzling rain. it’s supposed to be summer but i’m not complaining. i love it. i wore a sweater all day today. it’s august now but spring you can stick around until fall for all i care. i haven’t been posting much because we’ve been enjoying the outdoors and getting out exploring. i’ve also been painting my house. something jamie told me to hire someone for which i thought was ridiculous but 3 months later i’m still painting and this is the only time you’ll ever hear this from me, but….he may have been right. maybe. but i’m almost done so i’m sticking it out. painting with a one year old is ridiculous though and i wouldn’t recommend it unless your place desperately needs new paint like mine did.^^^there were magnolia trees out everywhere in our neighbourhood. it was glorious. ^^^we’re lucky enough to have some apple trees in our backyard that we like to picnic under when it gets warm. aya picked some pretty bouquets for me when the blossoms came out!^^^charlie tried. it’s the thought that counts:)^^^you may notice i take more photos of aya than charlie. i feel horrible for it but the boy is always on the go!!! when i look at this picture i remember how i had 1 second to snap it and then realized there was a giant branch in front of his face but he was already darting to the other side of the yard and i take what i can get with him.^^^because this is a classic charlie photo. or it’s just a giant blur.^^^how cool are these leggings from zara?? ^^^i sometimes let aya use my instax mini and she’s loving it! it’s really interesting to see what kids photograph and the world through their eyes. with aya it’s a lot of detail shots and usually from down low. she takes super cute/ weird pictures. and she has a knack for capturing her parents in the most embarrassing/ humbling way. i’ll share some of her photography on here one day. ^^^these two have been picking flowers together since they were one! and always with their mamas in mind, so sweet. some of the highlights for me this spring were when the cherry blossoms came out, ayas 1/2 birthday, mothers day, the tulip festival and of course our family trip to santa barbara. it was a good spring!
i hope you all had a fantastic spring and remembered to smell the flowers!
