we went camping this fall but it was short lived. it was beautiful with a mix of sun to torrential downpour to sprinkles of rain, back to downpour and then sun again. the weather was just too much for us since we haven’t bought our future dream camper yet;) we decided to get out 24 hours into the trip (sometimes you have to know when to throw in the towel). we packed up in the rain and of course once we were done the sun came out again, haha! it wasn’t all dampness and complaining though. we made friends with the animals, went on some nature walks, watched the clouds roll by and listened to the birds sing. ^^^another photo by the very talented 6 year old aya. i feel completely uninhibited and free to be myself with her behind the camera. i hope she feels the same with me behind it. currently she wants to be a singer and a photographer when she grows up. ^^^of course he decided to run into the glacier fed lake, he always does! ^^^aya loves getting me to photograph her animals. ^^^this pretty much sums up mom life; a pig and a sheep dancing on my head, the ever growing cluster of laugh lines and still in pyjamas. ^^^just ignore the hair, mmmk. ^^^ninja dad in the background being all resourceful. ^^^he built a swing! a really uncomfortable swing but it occupied them for about 5 minutes. ^^^ok. time to leave. to all those who brave the elements i admire you. it isn’t easy. but it is worth it even if it is just for a short stint.
