disneyland. i’ve heard it referred to as the happiest place on earth. it is not. at least not if you’re bringing kids with you. it’s chaos and overstimulation. if you’re nursing there may be decent places to nurse your baby but i couldn’t find any. i did find a dirty curb in an alley to sit on that was quiet but then these giant doors swung open and around 100 people started marching by. i know most moms can nurse almost anywhere and i could with aya but charlie’s different. he is incredibly curious of the world around him and gets distracted really easily. the only way to nurse him successfully is if we’re in an environment that’s calm and quiet and even that can be challenging if there are new things to look at.
at one point i went into a washroom to change charlies diaper and there was a huge line all the way out the door of moms waiting to change their babies diaper and only one change table! i gave up and changed his diaper with him lying down in the stroller. at another washroom the lineup went out the door of the women’s washroom so i used the mens washroom (with no line) and averted my eyes passing the urinals. um, i’m a mom. i can only hold my pee for so long.
so without sugarcoating it here’s disneyland! ^^^there were red flags before we left that morn. like charlie doing the wet noodle. ^^^toon town. and a very tired charlie. ^^^aw tea cups, they make everybody happy.
^^^or at least aya. ^^^just give up jamie, he was over the teacups about 20 minutes into waiting to get on. even flappy hands won’t work now. ^^^jamie, you’re freaking him out. ^^^calm…wait for it…^^^they look like happy jumps. they weren’t. they were manic. they were ‘i’m really high on cookies right now’ jumps.
^^^charlie didn’t nap all day. all day. ^^^i know i said it before but no nap. all day. jamie was fine though. i could hear charlie crying/ screaming form my dumbo. jamie finally agreed to leave after the flying dumbos with charlie kicking and screaming like we had given him a slurpie laced with pcp. it was hardest pulling jamie away.
i think i’m more of a getting out in nature person and far away from people. jamie on the other hand approved and is determined to take the kids back. aya loved it and i do think charlie will really love it when he’s a bit older and not nursing on demand and requiring two naps a day. and if the kids are both having fun i think i could actually enjoy disneyland:)
