my friend asked me if i wanted to go camping and automatically jamies schedule was running through my head. jamie doesn’t like to take time off work and i totally get it. sometimes i wish he could take more time off work but tattooing is a huge commitment and he works hard so respect, i totally get it. but that doesn’t mean i can’t go!! and i want these kids to have fun memories of summer. i don’t want to be a mom who sits around and won’t do anything without my partner, that totally goes against my morals! actually i totally get it because it took me an entire day to pack and about 3 days to unpack. camping is a little easier with jamie there but my friend kristine helped set up my gigantic tent (she set hers up all by herself btw!) and other than that i pretty much do most of the work when we camp anyway. all in all it was a good trip and I’m really proud of myself for going camping with the kids without jamie there (i don’t care if that sounds lame, its true!). and what am i even talking about? me and aya have been going on girls road trips for forever, i guess they just went on hold while charlie was little but now that he’s two it’s easier (even though he is a little adventurer and keeps me running after him everywhere). so here’s a little of our moms and kids only camping trip at hicks lake! highlights included walking 7km around the entire lake and of course swimming!! ^^^i taught jack a few camera tips and he’s a little obsessed with taking photos. he was photographing aya here. ^^^this wagon was the best thing i’ve bought this summer. i store it in my car and load it up every time we go to the beach. you can check it out here. i love that it can still be pulled through sand and i don’t have to worry about it tipping over even with two kids in it. ^^^checking out her muscles. she definitely gets it from me. ^^^”look mommy, chocolate” ^^^”was it chocolate or poo?” (long pause) “……poo.”^^^me and charlie left for 10 minutes to explore the forests and came back to the geese taking over our spot. ^^^i love that laugh.
hope you’re enjoying summer and happy camping!
